I had the Pip's famous seafood chowder. It was the best! I really enjoyed it, and I hope my review makes it a little more famous

We had a very good meal here. An excellent rib eye steak. My wife is coeliac and they went out of their way to accommodate her too. Very friendly service, good beer! Will be back when next in Christchurch.

Cannot fault this spot. Had their Chicken Schnitzel with the mushroom sauce and it was soo good. Could do with a bit more coleslaw but the chicken was superb. Crunchy on the outside creamy in the middle. The mushroom sauce was sooo good and so were the fries. Good vibes and good service too! Super quick

Mayor of Ale is hands down one of the best spots in Christchurch. The atmosphere is always buzzing but still relaxed enough to just hang out. The service is super friendly and quick, which makes it easy and enjoyable. Now, let’s talk about the schniddys… epic and absolutely delicious! Big, crispy, and packed with flavour – easily the best I’ve had in ages. If you’re on the hunt for your new local or just want a chill place with great food and good vibes, this is it.

I came here with my family and we got service for drinks as soon as we sat down. We got our drinks like three or four minutes after we ordered them. We got our food very fast, and it was delicious. Anyways the food was good, service was excellent, and definitely child friendly. Ten out of ten will come back!! Written by an eleven year old

Awesome schnitzels, absolutely massive although a bit expensive ($29), either beef chicken or vegetarian. The vegetarian one was great not just a potato one but nice tofu fake chicken. Would recommend the parma one!!
